Centre for African Strategy in BRICS

The young researchers' laboratory was established on the basis of the  Institute of Africa of the Russian Academy of Sciences and with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

The Center conducts fundamental and applied research aimed at studying the African vector of international relations and global governance, as well as the politics and economics of African countries that are members of BRICS or cooperate with the association.

Research areas of the Centre:

Research on foreign policy of African states-members and partners of BRICS, including bilateral ties and multilateral cooperation

Multidisciplinary research of the political characteristics and economic development of African BRICS member states

Assessing priority areas for collaboration with Russia

Analysis of the prospects for further expansion of BRICS+ on the African continent
