On 25 November 2025 at 11:00, the Institute for African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IAS RAS) will host a roundtable discussion titled “Integrating the Countries of the Global South into BRICS: The Case of Africa.” The event is jointly organized by the BRICS African Strategy Studies Center (IAS RAS) and the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC).

In their remarks, participants will address the following questions: How will the integration of Global South countries into BRICS develop? What are the advantages of partner-country status for BRICS participants and for the grouping itself? What are the prospects for BRICS expansion through full members and partner states? What integration challenges might Global South countries face?
